How to edit a design profile?
Ok..now that you have created design profiles, you may be wondering how you can edit them, right?
Easiest way of course is to highlight the profile, and grab one of the "grips" (triangular or circular) to reposition them elsewhere. To demystify these grips, the red triangular one allows you to reposition the PVI point anywhere, whereas the cyan-colored triangular grips allow you to modify the PVI's location by locking in a grade while modifying the other grade (note the direction of grip is like an arrow along the tangent of the grade).
The circular grip quite simply is just the radius control - moving it up and down modifies the radius while holding the PVI locked.
But if you want to make other modifications (add PVI, delete curves, modify curve radius by typing, etc.), right click on a design profile and select Edit Profile Geometry.
Now, the profile layout toolbar that pops-up (similar to one you used while creating the profile) has tools to allow editing operations. For example, use "notepad" looking symbol on the right side to edit the profile in spreadsheet ("grid") view. Also, try flipping between PVI and Entity-based grid views to notice the difference. Entity-based allow control over radius, K-Value, Through-Point stations, etc., whereas PVI-based allows changed to grades, elevations, and curve lengths (used more often).
And you can always perform the other usual operations, delete PVI, add PVI, add curves, etc.
Give it a try..you'd be amaze by the simplicity, power, and agility of this feature. And mind you, all labeling is automatic, no matter what changes you make to profile..meaning less drafting and more engineering!
